With so many things on your mind as the date of your road trip approaches, don't forget about these simple safety tips that could make the drive a little easier on you. Work through this checklist to ensure the safest possible times on the road.
- Pack a new flashlight and several new batteries and store in the glove compartment
- Bring a tire gauge and when you stop for fuel check the pressure in each tire is correct
- Bring along a gallon of engine coolant in the event the car overheats
- A roll of duct table can come in handy, especially in you blow a radiator hose
- Inspect the spare tire to make sure it is full of air before leaving
- Pack a small box of assorted tools that can be used to make repairs if needed
